A Week of Lasts

We began the countdown to the Hitchcock's (John's sister, Anna, and her husband, Nate and 5 kids: Ellie, Drew, Abby, Toby, and Whitney) departure day.  They will be driving out of town on Sunday.  We are trying to spend every moment with those sweet kids.  They are taking turns spending days with me and nights with us.  Chase is enjoying them and is pretty clueless about what is to come.  I did get a book at the library called "My Best Friend Moved Away" or something like that.  I'm not sure it made a huge impact!!

Here is Whitney and Chasey enjoying some mango sorbet together.

Ellie spent the night last night and today we decided to have a craft day.  We made posy flowers and turned them into hair clips and pins.  I found some scraps last night but then today we went to the fabric store and bought about 6 different colors of satin polyester just because it would be much more fun!

Aren't they so cute??

Here is Chase doing a very thorough exam on John....we were laughing so hard while she was listening to his heartbeat.

Thank goodness for this sweet little girl that makes us laugh.  She's seeing me cry too much and saying "Mama's sad".  Yes little one, mama is sad, but those clouds will lift soon enough.

Starting a New Chapter

I've decided to join the trend and start blogging.  With our extended family continuing to live away from us, it seems fitting to journal our lives so that they might know what is going on!!  Next week we will lose the Hitchcocks to the great state of Washington.  We are so sad to see them go, but know that this is time and place.  Fortunately for today's technology, it is easier to keep in touch with those far away.
