:Sharing Good News:

Chase got to share her exciting news of her baby brother with her teachers and friends at school this week!

John took her to school this particular morning, so I did not get to see the reaction,
but thanks to our friend that was there with her camera,
she was able to capture the moment so that I could see.

Chase was so thrilled to head to school with an ultrasound picture in tow.
I think she carried it around all morning showing every possible person!

We are happy that she is happy.  She is telling me all the time how much she loves the baby.

We'll see if that trend continues!

and in case you are interested in seeing the ultrasound picture...

A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

:Our Cowgirl is Three:

This past weekend we celebrated our sweet girl's 3rd birthday!
It was a "Jessie" party, from Toy Story 2, but mostly it was a cowgirl party.
Everyone came who was invited, that's 23 adults and 13 children, 10 of them being 3 year old girls.

I always enjoy coming up with these ideas and searching blogs for creative things, but then the work part of putting it all together is time consuming!
I am soooo thankful that the past 3 years my parents have come out to help me (and mostly to celebrate with Chase) and I am pretty sure I couldn't do it without them.  They are real do-ers!  When one thing gets checked off the list they are ready for the next.

This year we held the party in the morning so we made a brunch menu:
Egg and sausage casserole, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, fruit salad, coffee, punch and cupcakes.
It all seemed to be a hit!

I tried my hand at two games with the kids:
There's a snake in my boot (toss the plastic snake in a bucket) &
Pin the tail on Bullseye...
not such a hit with 3 year olds!  Oh well, I tried!
Mostly they enjoyed running around and playing on the playground.

It was a fun morning and I think Chase was honored by all of her friends and grandparents being there.
I'm always amazed at when another year passes.  Many regret time moving on, but not me.  I am trying to enjoy each day as it comes and then move on to the next!  I am thankful that we made it to 3 years and am wrapping my mind around re-starting the baby clock again in a few months!

This is Chase all tuckered out from all the fun:

It was birthday week around here.  Our sweet Chase is three!  We are thankful for her little life.  Tomorrow we are having a cowgirl shindig for her...pictures to follow!

* I must admit, this wasn't this week, but it was when it rained 2 weeks ago, but could have been since it did rain!  She insisted on jumping in the puddles and I had to dig these boots out of a bin b/c I didn't even know if they fit her yet...and the paci's, well, I should remember them because they won't be around forever...just the foreseeable future *

:The Pumpkin Patch:

We went yesterday with Chase's class to a local pumpkin patch.
After seeing my sis-in-law's pictures of a pumpkin patch in WA state, I use this term LOOSELY!
But it was fun nonetheless...it was an unusual October day in San Diego - gray skies, cool temps, drizzle...
so that made it extra enjoyable to actually feel like Fall.
We've been to patches in years past when it is in the 90's (see earlier post about hot October!)

**I'm sorry there are so many, I had a hard time editing!**

This is her favorite stance these days and it cracks me up...

We had a little pumpkin education,
then a hayride,
then got lost in a corn maze,
then picked out our own small pumpkin to take home,
then jumped off the hay bales and sat on an old tractor.

Then the day got even better as it started raining really hard...perfect for a quiet afternoon.

But, alas, I heard on the news this morning that by this time next week it will be 30 degrees hotter!!

BLAH!!!!
